Compiled by CAMRA's 82,000 dedicated volunteer members, it is the definitive source of information on where to find cask-conditioned real ale in tip-top condition. The Guide also contains a unique Breweries section, listing all the breweries — national, regional and micro — that produce cask beer, along with tasting notes compiled by CAMRA experts.

The Butchers Arms at Herne has again been named Pub of the Year (2009) by the Canterbury, Herne Bay & Whitstable Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).

Branch Chairman Gerry Keay said:- "The Butchers Arms is a worthy winner again this year, after last year's success. It has everything you look for in a good pub - a great community local with excellent beer, friendly and knowledgeable service and a cosy intimate atmosphere. You just can't help falling into conversation with your fellow customers".
